The hdymc season
finally got underway on St David's day and the first day of spring
provided a beautiful sunny day for our club championship to
commence. The stony dry track at foxholes caught out one or two of
the riders in the first block of races, but as they got to grips
with the difficult terrain some superb racing ensued in all classes,
much to the delight of the many spectators in attendance.
The novice group
headed the racing programme with Bob Fenton showing the pursuing
pack the way home with a good start to his season with the first
overall. Ben Rose showed some early season form with second
overall, he dedicated this to his new fitness regime.
In the junior
group the overall win was taken by Harry Pritchard with the Weymouth
warriors Sean Dimmick and Sam Lycett second and third respectively.
The expert group
produced some real high quality racing that could have graced any
national meeting with Brett Wheeler riding faultlessly to take the
three heat wins for the victory spoils, however young James Cole was
in close pursuit and earned a well deserved second overall and third
place went to the consistent Lee Cummings who was getting to grips
with his new 450 ,current club expert champion Dave Gane followed
him home to fourth place on his high revving 125.
Victory in the
85 class went to the lightning fast Beth Farmer who rode as smooth
as ever with Keiron Whitlock second and a very commendable third
place going to Josh Barton who was consistent through out the day.
The seniors
group always provides close racing with all the up and coming stars
of the future looking to get their season off to a good start and it
was Jake Shipton who threw the gauntlet down with a superb display
of riding to take the overall victory, Mitchell Bligh and Lewis Cave
rode well all day and finished second and third respectively.
James Harrison
did not put a foot wrong all meeting and took the spoils in the 100
class with Ayrton Forenzo, who is one to watch for the future,
squeezing every last bit of horsepower out of his 150 Honda to take
a well earned second place, Louis Schmidt rode well to claim third
overall with Olly Jones in a credible fourth on his first outing in
the group.
Buddy Shipton
emulated older brother Jake by taking the win in the autos with
Jodie Meerdew finishing in second and James Allard having a great
day with third place, the autos group were a credit to themselves
riding a very difficult track, some of who were riding their very
first event.
Well done to all
riders, marshals and helpers for contributing their efforts to the
committee enabling a superb meeting to take place.

soil.
Proceedings got underway with the autos and Buddy Shipton took the win

the honours with the ever consistent Bob Fenton a close run second, Mark
Williamson who is never far short of the mark finished in third place.
Jake Revell-Wareham had a superb ride in the novice group and will be
pushing the top boys before long.

his authority on the group with a superb win with the ever competitive
Sean Dimmick and Sam Lycett second and third respectively, Thomas Shutler
had a good day with a very credible fourth place.
The
expert group was always going to be interesting and, with one or two of
the groups top riders not in attendance, James Cole welcomed the
opportunity and had a full house of wins. The super smooth style of
Aaron Carmichael earned him second place and was followed home by Marcus
Feltham who battled all day for an excellent third place. Chris Cave had
a good ride with fourth place, a credit to his efforts.
The
85s group was as fast as ever; Ben Harrison rode the tivvy track to near
perfection to take the win, Max Acres took a well earned second, Josh
Barton was consistent all day and was rewarded with third place whilst
Brad Jones overcome technical troubles early on but pulled out all the
stops to claim fourth place.
The
seniors line up at hdymc must surely yield some of the sports future
stars, Jake Shipton took the win in the group with some breath taking
riding much to the delight of the spectators on the uphill double, Ross
Churchill had a great day with second place and Dean Cummings marked his
return from injury with a well earned third.
The
win in the 100s group was taken by James Harrison who rode superbly all
day, Ayrton Forenzo was as consistent as ever in second, Olly Jones
still a little bruised and sore after his exploits last weekend rode to
an outstanding third place in the group.

HARRISON
BROTHERS A PLUS AT A AND A...
Another glorious morning greeted the HDYMC members at the A and A Moto
Parc near Honiton in Devon. The journey across the border was worthwhile
as the riders got to ride a superbly prepared circuit, which included
the most difficult whoops section ever encountered by most riders - oops
would have been more appropriate.
Racing got underway with the 100s group where the top three places were
the same as the previous rounds with James Harrison, who has to be one
of the clubs future stars taking the win. Ayreton Forenzo worked hard
all day to second place and Olly Jones showed some real determination to
secure third. Lewis Schmidt showed the group he was also a championship
contender with a good ride in fourth.
The auto group which is always a pleasure to watch was won by Jodie
Merrydew; Buddy Shipton maintained his push for the championship with
second and James Allard had a great ride in third whilst following close
behind was young Bradley Cummings who took fourth with Jake Cooper and
Travis Reynolds in fifth and sixth respectively. This crop of riders are
definitely our club's future.
The junior group was as quick as ever, Harry Pritchard who is in superb
form rode as smooth as ever to take the win even after a fine looking
superman on the whoops nearly parted him from his bike. Aaron Gordon had
a great ride with second place followed home by the two Weymouth
warriors Sean Dimmick and Sam Lycett having some great battles to
finish in third and fourth place respectively.
The expert group had some returning riders whilst others were absent
thus leaving the door open for some great racing. Chris Cave came out
victorious with Lee Cummings blasting the big 450 to second.
Young Steve Bain is finding form again after a nasty injury and earned a
well deserved third with the ever consistent and hard battling Marcus
Feltham coming home in fourth place.
The novice group win was taken by the man in form Bob Fenton. Jake Gay
stepped up to join the group's leaders with second place with the ever
smiling Andy Curtis coming home in third, credible rides by Stu Barfoot,
Jake Revell-Wareham and Stevie Gane gave them all top six placings.
The 85s group winner was the younger of the Harrison brothers Ben whilst
Josh Barton showed his consistency with another superb ride and was
rewarded with second place. Daniel Lawler had a determined ride and
third over all was just rewards for his effort; Keiron Meek, Brad Jones
and Beth Farmer worked hard all day to earn top six placings.
The senior group, as always, was as fast as ever and it was the talented
Jake Shipton who showed the group the way home with an uncatchable ride
to first place. Second place went to Dean Cummings who showed the group
that he is fit again and back in business. Ryan Carter took third place
with a consistent ride whilst Ben Kienan showed he is moving on to the
pace with a well earned fourth place, Chris Richards and Joe Poole
followed home in fifth and sixth place respectively.
This was another superb meeting which was a credit to our organisers
with the icing on the cake .. you.. the riders, thanks to all marshals
and helpers. Alf

lycett likes the
silence............
After
the disappointment of the cancellation of the Tiverton meeting, hdymc
came back into action with all guns blazing at the Silent Woman track
near Wareham. The sandy track consisted of a large wet boggy area at one
side of the track and very fine dust at the other making the track very
technical and challenging for the riders. The groups welcomed an influx
of visitors thus increasing the competition through out the classes.
Racing
got under way with the super fast senior group, Jake Shipton returned to
the fold after some national racing to take the win, Mitchell Bligh rode
well all day into second with Dean Cummings riding through the pain
barrier after a nasty crash to take third.
The
100s group was business as usual; James Harrison was faultless into
first place with Ayrton Forrenzo in hot pursuit in second, Lewis Schmidt
rode to a credible third, Olly Jones kept his challenge for the
championship despite being unwell with a well deserved fourth place.
Buddy
Shipton returned to winning form with some lovely riding in the autos.
Callum Gordon followed home into second with Jodie Meridew and James
Allard in third and fourth respectively. Bradley Cummings and Rebecca
Newham completed the top six.
The
junior group was as competitive as ever as Weymouth warrior Sam Lycett
took the win from fellow townsman Sean Dimmick pressing as hard as ever
into second. Thomas Shutler had a great ride with a third place in the
group.
The
expert group welcomed back some of their top riders from national
racing; Lewis Trickett rode superbly to the victory and it was good to
see club veteran Phil Lewis back riding as he used all of his experience
and skill to come home in second place in front of the ever consistent
Lee Cummings who took the final podium place.
The novice group win was taken by
Andy Curtis despite a near perfect
cartwheel after an incident in the soft section of the track. Steve Gain
had a superb ride taking second place whilst Danny Greenough took the third
spot with sand specialist Richard Wareham claiming fourth.
Beth
Farmer
did not let the visitors in the 85s group spoil her seasons momentum
taking first place. Bradley Jones found some ultra smooth lines and
continued his championship push with second place and Daniel Lawler was
consistent all day taking third with the ever improving James Ford and
Jack Dudman making up the top six.
Thanks to all helpers and marshals for
their contribution to another great meeting where the weather looked
upon us with kindness.

BARTON VICTORIOUS IN SWANMORE
DUST UP
Round
5 of the hdymc championship took us to a circuit not previously used by
the club at Swanmore in Hampshire, a natural valley track with the
addition of some tricky jumps that kept the riders on their toes and
some great racing ensued despite the finest dust you will see
Racing got
underway with the 85s; Josh Barton was faultless all day and had a
superb ride to the victory. The ensuing pack consisted of riders picking
up the pace in the group with Brad Jones taking second place with his
usual determination whilst James Ford earned a well earned third with
Scott Newham, Daniel Lawler and Jack Alderton making the top six. It's
good to see Jack back into the placings after a serious injury last
season.
The
senior group seem to get faster every week and this time Ross Churchill
was consistent all day which earned him the win. Lewis Cave gave his all
as usual earning second place and Chris Richards was rewarded for his
efforts with the final rostrum place.
The
100s group win was taken by Jamie Strange who is growing in confidence
and showing some superb riding ability. The chasing pack battled through
the dust with Lewis Schmidt coming home in second place; Olly Jones had
mixed fortunes throughout the day but showed maturity beyond his years
to keep his championship push on course with third place. Jack Jenner, Jon
Cole and Kayleigh Durston all made the top six.
The auto boys and girls
rode the difficult conditions superbly with Buddy Shipton, who is in
great form, coming home victorious. James Hall gave his all to earn a
well deserved second place whilst Travis Reynolds continued his progression in
the sport with a great ride into third place. Joseph Leyland had a great
day with fourth and Bradley Cummings and Rebecca Newham both rode very
well into the top six.
The ever competitive junior group saw
Weymouth warrior Sam Lycett take the victory. Harry Pritchard managed a
very credible second place after suffering a broken chain in race one
and Harry Kimber moved onto the pace and was rewarded with third for his
efforts. Thomas Shutler, Sean Dimmick and Jacob Oldham completed the top
six.
Much dust was
kicked up by the experts
and the only rider not covered
was the super quick Brett Wheeler who was faultless all day earning a
well deserved victory. James Cole was as consistent as ever into second
with josh house back in club action riding home into third. Craig Durston put in the effort to be rewarded with fourth
whilst Dave Gane and
Danny Richards had mixed fortunes but still made top six placings.
The
novice group win was taken by championship favourite Bob Fenton and the
conditions did not hamper Jake Gay who took second place ahead of veteran
campaigners Mark Williamson and Andy Curtis.
Best wishes from every one at the club go to
Dean Cummings
who crashed heavily and suffered a nasty break to his arm, get well soon
Dean. Thanks to all marshals and helpers as the meeting was run in
difficult conditions, however the determination of our organising committee ensured a full days racing took place and a good day was had by
all.

ITS HARRYS GAME AT TINCLETON
Another
dry and sunny day welcomed the hdymc membership to round 6 of the club
championship at the Tincleton circuit near Dorchester. The overall
winners on the day were the driver of the water bowser who under the
guidance of Paul Cummings tactically watered the dry dusty track thus
not creating a difficult surface for the youngsters but allowing some
top class racing amongst the seniors and adult groups; well done fellas
you saved the day.
Racing
got under way with the novice group and it was championship favourite
Bob Fenton who took the win with Dean Pennington continuing his return
to the sport with second. Danny Greenough stepped up his pace and took a
well deserved third place and Jake Gay worked his socks off as usual and
was justifiably rewarded with fourth.
The
100s flew out of the gate as usual and it was Ben Harrison who dominated
to take the victory. Beth Farmer was as smooth and fast as ever pushing
hard to second and James Ford took the final podium place with Josh
Barton, Jack Alderton and Tommy Doran completing the top six.
The
senior group welcomed back Jake Shipton from national racing and
promptly put the experience to good use to take the overall win despite
having to come from the back in the last race; the ground positively
shook as he landed the jumps, his determination never in question.
Mitchell Bligh upped the pace scoring valuable points in second place
and the younger of the Cave brothers' Lewis maintained his consistency
with third. Liam Horder and Chris Richards took the final three
placings.
The
85s group welcomed back the super smooth Ben Harrison who didn't
disappoint and took a superb win ahead of the hard riding Olly Jones.
Jamie Strange continued his push for a top championship place with a
hard fought third place ahead of Louis Schmidt who as always gave his
all and another top six place was his reward.
The
autos rode the difficult track superbly they really are a talented crop
of young riders with Callum Gordon the cream of the pack this week with
a lovely show of riding with the ever consistent Buddy Shipton second
ahead of James Allard. Jake Cooper worked hard for his fourth
place whilst Bradley Cummings, determined as ever was fifth and
Travis Reynolds was again a top six finisher.
The
junior group win was taken by the super smooth Harry Pritchard who
deserved his victory with consistency throughout the day. Sean Dimmick
rode to a well deserved second, Thomas Shutler had a great ride into
third and Jacob Oldham continued his progression in the group with
fourth.
The
expert group was as relentless as ever and Brett Wheeler was uncatchable
with the win Lee Cummings marked his return to club action with second
place; Chris Cave was as focused as ever into third and Dave Gane
screamed the little two stoke to fourth place with young Steve Bain
putting his recent injury woes behind him making the top six along with
Danny Richards who battled through misfortune to a top six place also.
Thanks
to all marshals and helpers - another well organised meeting by our
committee was enjoyed by all with superb action from you the riders.
Best wishes go to club favourite Richie Pile who unfortunately broke
his ankle playing football, give it up Rich it's too dangerous,
get it fixed and come back to us asap. alf

MITCHELL BLIGH FLYING HIGH AT FOXHOLES.
The
weather looked upon us kindly again for round 7 of the club
championships at the foxholes circuit, Bishopstone, Wiltshire. The heavy
rain in the early hours of Sunday morning prepared a perfect stage for
some quality racing throughout the day.
The
action got underway with our super quick expert group and it was young
James Cole who rode faultlessly to the victory whilst Danny Richards
finally did what we all know he is capable of and rode superbly and a
little more shrewdly than normal into second ahead of the hard charging
Lee Cummings who worked the big 450 home into third place. Chris Cave
took fourth with Wes Cox and Dave Gane making up the top six.
The
novice group had a selection of riders moving onto the pace but it was
Jake Gay who was victorious. Danny Greenough is moving on up the leader
board and secured a well earned second place whilst Stu Barfoot who has
been there abouts all season took third with Andy Turner in fourth. Rich
Wareham found his form again and seasoned campaigner Mark Williamson
both made the top six.
The
85s group saw the ever consistent Josh Barton home in first place in
front of some very tight racing that was taking place behind him. In the
ensuing pack Daniel Lawler worked his socks off to earn second place and
James Ford followed home in third. Jack Alderton and Brad Jones
battled all day with Jack taking fourth by a whisker from Brad whilst
Scott Newham completed the top six.
The
senior group shot out of the gate as frenetically as usual and it was
Mitchell Bligh who took the victory spoils with a very focused ride. The
younger cave brother - Lewis - gave all he had into second spot and Ben
Keirnan, who is definitely a tip for the future, rode superbly into
third. Ryan Carter who is never far from the mix was fourth with Ross
Churchill and Adam Barfoot making up the final top six placings.
The
100s group welcomed back Ayrton Fiorrenzio who rode the foxholes track as
you would expect of him into a well deserved victory. Lois Schmidt got
on the pace to take second and Olly Jones who is never far from the
thick of the action came home in third. Jamie Strange continued his push
into the top championship places with fourth and Kayeigh Durston and
Jack Whatley who continues to impress completed the top six.
Next up was the
auto
group where the win was taken by Buddy Shipton with his best friend and
rival Callum Gordon home in second. Jake Cooper is making steady
progress in the group and third place was his reward with Travis
Reynolds who is another one to watch for the future fought hard all day
for fourth place. James Allard and Rebecca Newham filled the remaining
top six places.
Last but not least was the
junior group that was headed by the in form super and smooth
riding Harry Pritchard. Sam Lycett came home ahead of fellow Weymouth
warrior Sean Dimmick and Verwood's Thomas Shutler gave his all, as always,
with a well deserved fourth place. Jacob Oldham and Jorden Allen put in
workman like performances to earn top six placings.

NO KEEPING BETH QUIET AT THE
SILENT WOMAN
Round
8 of the club championship took us to the Silent Woman circuit near
Wareham in Dorset, where the dry sandy conditions proved to be a test
for even our experienced riders. The groups had an influx of visiting
riders who are always welcome, this however did not distract the club
riders pushing for championship honours.
Racing
got underway with the junior group; it was business as usual in the
group with Harry Pritchard who is a great prospect for the future taking
the win from the Weymouth Warriors Lycett and Dimmick who finished
second and third respectively, whilst Thomas Shutler had his efforts
rewarded with fourth place. Ryan Turner, who is moving onto the pace,
finished in front of Jacob Oldham to take a well deserved fifth.
The
expert group was always going to be interesting with our national rocket
rookie Jake Shipton moving up into the group from the seniors. He didn't
disappoint and also didn't let the distraction of David Goodson, another
visiting national rider, distract him from the win. James Cole was as
smooth and slick as ever into second with Lee Cummings blasting the big
berms into third. The club welcomed back 2005 Senior champion Arran
Carmichael who took fourth place ahead of Chris Cave and current club
champion Dave Gane who both made the top six.
The
novice group win was taken by Bob Fenton, re-finding his early season
form, and Andy Curtis who likes a ride out in the sand, took second
place. Matt Cox took a well earned
third with a brace of second places. Stu Barfoot who is never far from the action, fought hard all day
into fourth with Danny Greenough and Mark Aldridge making up the top
six.
The
super fast Beth Farmer spectacularly dominated the 85s group while
Josh Barton worked as hard as ever to claim the runner up spot. Daniel
Lawler had a great ride into third and Portlander Jack Alderton is
finding his form again after a series of bad injuries and after some
superb racing with his friend and rival Brad Jones, Jack took fourth
with Brad making fifth; Ben Cook moved onto the pace with a well earned
top six finish.
The
senior group made the dust swirl and it was Mitchell Bligh who is in a
rich vane of form taking the win. Lewis cave gave his all and was
rewarded with a deserved second place and was followed home by Ross
Churchill who took an equally well earned third place. The remaining top
six placings were decided by some very close racing with Ryan Carter
taking the fourth followed by Alex Gillingham and Chris Richards.
The
100s were dominated by James Harrison with the ever pressing high
revving
Olly Jones earning a well deserved second. Jack Jenner showed the group
what he is capable of with a great ride in third place followed home by
John Cole, Jamie Strange and Charlie Wheeler.
The
auto group was business as usual with the younger of the Shipton lads,
Buddy, emulating Jake to a victory. James Allard was as consistent as
ever with second place and Jake Cooper battled who hard all day was
rewarded with a deserved third. Rebecca Newham continued her progression
in the group with fourth followed home by Brad Cummings into fifth and
well done to Macie Schmidt who made the top six for the second time this
season.
Best
wishes go to novice stalwart Steve Gane who broke his collar bone after
a spill in the sand, get better and get back with us. alf

JOY FOR JONES AT TINCELTON
Round nine of the club championship returned to the
natural and technical Tincelton circuit near Dorchester. One or two
riders were away riding national events thus allowing others to close
the gaps in their respective groups for overall championship
placings.
Racing got under way with the 100s group and it was popular
club rider Olly Jones from Stallbridge who stepped up to the mark with a
superb victory. Jack Jenner worked hard all meeting and came home in a
very credible second with Lewis Schmidt making up the top three.
The auto group
win was taken by the constantly improving Callum Gordon, James Allard was
second with a consistent ride, Macie Schmidt had another great ride into
third with Rebecca Newham, Joseph Leyland and Brad Cummings completing
the top
six.
The junior group win was taken again by the super smooth
riding Harry Pritchard, second and third place went to the Weymouth
warriors Sam Lycett and Sean Dimmick whilst Harry Kimber rode to a well
earned fourth place in the very competitive group.
The expert group
welcomed back Brett Wheeler who carried on where he left off with a
superb victory ahead of Lee Cummings. Ashley Bailey scored deserved points in third
with the young Steve Bain, Chris Cave and Craig Durston made up the top six.
Bob Fenton
resumed his push for the novice group championship with a super victory
whilst Kev Burgess chased hard all day to bag the runner up spot. Danny
Greenough put in the effort and was rewarded with the last podium place
in the group.
Next out were the 85s group where Josh Barton, who really has
come into his own this season, gave another show of consistent skilled riding
to earn him the top spots. Daniel Lawler chased hard all day into second
and Brad Jones maintained his push for a championship placing with a
consistent
ride into third.
Mitchell Bligh, who has been a revelation lately, again didn't
disappoint with another victory in the senior group, Ross Churchill
showed the skill and talent we know he has with a well earned second and
Ben Keinan is finding the pace with a deserved third. Ryan Carter, Chris
Richards and Jack Futcher made top the rest of the top six.
